The<br \/>\nBudweiser Clydesdales are the perfect example of this. These beautiful horses can<br \/>\nreally capture a crowd while they march in parades and pull the famous wagons. Some<br \/>\ndraft horses pull carriages and sleds in weddings and other events. Their gentle nature<br \/>\nalso makes them great horses to learn to ride on. They have<br \/>\nfeathered legs and muscular bodies. While most are familiar with the bay color, they<br \/>\nalso come in gray, black, and roan. Their history can be traced back to Scotland. They<br \/>\nmake great show and parade horses, but can also be seen working in fields.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Shire<\/strong><br \/>\nOne of the largest and most powerful, the Shire weighs nearly 1,800 to 2,400 pounds.<br \/>\nThey have broad chests, strong legs, and lots of feathering. These gentle giants<br \/>\noriginated in the United Kingdom, where they were used for heavy work and driving.<br \/>\nThey\u2019re known for their gentle temperaments and willingness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Belgian<\/strong><br \/>\nThis breed was imported into the United States in the 1800s from Belgium. Most are a<br \/>\nlight chestnut in color with a flaxen mane and tail. They tower roughly 16 to 19 hands<br \/>\nand weigh an impressive 1,800 to 2,000 pounds. Their strength makes them great work<br \/>\nanimals!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Percheron<\/strong><br \/>\nThis versatile breed is strong and agile. They have an average height of 16 to 17 hands<br \/>\nwith muscular bodies. They\u2019re well suited for a variety of jobs and can pull carriages,<br \/>\nperform in dressage, and compete in driving classes. Percherons were developed in<br \/>\nFrance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<strong>Suffolk Punch<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">One of Britain\u2019s oldest draft breeds, the Suffolk Punch is around 15 to 17 hands. They\u2019re<br \/>\nknown for their chestnut coats and minimal feathering. Some will have white facial<br \/>\nmarkings, such as a large blaze. They\u2019re often called gentle giants because of their<br \/>\ndocile temperaments. These horses are valuable members of many farms due to their<br \/>\nstrength and willingness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Irish Draught<\/strong><br \/>\nFrom Scotland, this draft breed usually stands between 15 to 17 hands. They come in<br \/>\nmost solid colors. They have strong hindquarters, deep chests, and sturdy legs. Many<br \/>\nbreeders have had great success by crossing this breed with Thoroughbreds and<br \/>\nwarmbloods. These Irish Sport Horses compete competitively in eventing and show<br \/>\njumping.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Gypsy Vanner<\/strong><br \/>\nThis magical horse breed is captivating with their lush mane, tail, and feathering. They<br \/>\nstand between 13 and 16 hands with an average weight of 1,100 to 1,700 pounds. One<br \/>\nof their most common colors is piebald. They also come in solid colors though. Gypsy<br \/>\nVanners are popular in dressage and competitive driving classes. They\u2019re loved by<br \/>\nmany youth and amateur riders thanks to their good nature.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Haflinger<\/strong><br \/>\nNot everyone realizes that this breed is considered a draft. They\u2019re on the smaller,<br \/>\nlighter side of draft horses, but have muscular builds. They usually are 13 to 15 hands<br \/>\ntall. One of their most distinct features is their chestnut color with flaxen mane and tail.<br \/>\nThere are many other types of draft horses! This is a small list in comparison to all the<br \/>\ndifferent ones. These types of horses may be the perfect companion for you.
